When I gained 25-pounds, many years ago, I knew there was a problem. When I gained 40-pounds, I threw away all of my books on nutrition, diets, weight loss supplements, and exercise.
The worst thing was, nutrition had been my passion and work for almost 30 years. I’m an RN and while I have done the usual nursing work (critical care, emergency room etc.) my true love was nutrition and how the body can be healed with the right combination of food and nutrients. Yet, when I needed to lose weight, everything that I thought I knew about how to accomplish my goals just plain didn’t work!
I WAS DOING EVERYTHING “RIGHT”
I was doing everything “right”. My exercise program was extensive: training for walking marathons, weight training 3 times a week, Pilates 2 times a week, and cycling once a week. On top of that I ate a 1200 calorie diet with very healthy foods. NOTHING WORKED!
It took almost a year before I found the program that was right for me. When I did, I felt as if the sun finally came out from behind the clouds. The program I followed was very simple. It’s been my personal experience that success comes and remains when you follow a metabolically sound, safe program that incorporates a real life style instead of rigorous demands and ongoing sacrifices at the table and in a gym. I felt great while I was losing weight and actually surpassed my weight loss goal.
Best of all, it has been 5 years since I did this program and I NEVER worry about my weight. I now work out just to stay strong, not to keep my weight in line.
I totally understand how disappointing and frustrating it is to try, try, try and still not get the results you want and deserve. My advice to anyone who is caught up in this struggle is to give my program serious consideration. Do not give up hope! Let’s find the simplest solution that fits perfectly with you and your lifestyle.
